Kodu Game Lab 1.3.5.0 Portable by Evan

Kodu lets kids create games on the PC and XBox via a simple visual programming language. Kodu can be used to teach creativity, problem solving, storytelling, as well as programming. Anyone can use Kodu to make a game, young children as well as adults with no design or programming skills.

Kodu Teaches more than Programming:

  • Kodu is a rich tool for narrative creation and storytelling
  • Kodu demonstrates that programming is a creative medium
  • Kodu helps children with critical thinking, breaking a complex goal into manageable steps, and iterate on the design process – an approach applicable to all academic subjects, business and personal relationships
  • Kodu introduces the logic and problem solving of programming
  • Kodu introduces conditions and sequences, which teaches cause and effect
  • Students learn about cooperation, logic and creativity in addition to programming

    Anyone Can Use Kodu:
  • Kodu can be taught by any teacher, no previous programming expertise required
  • Ages 8 and up typically have the most success

    Python 3.3.0 Portable by Evan

Python is a dynamic object-oriented programming language that can be used for many kinds of software development. It offers strong support for integration with other languages and tools, comes with extensive standard libraries, and can be learned in a few days. Many Python programmers report substantial productivity gains and feel the language encourages the development of higher quality, more maintainable code.
Python runs on Windows, Linux/Unix, Mac OS X, OS/2, Amiga, Palm Handhelds, and Nokia mobile phones. Python has also been ported to the Java and .NET virtual machines.
Python is distributed under an OSI-approved open source license that makes it free to use, even for commercial products.
    What's new:
    - syntax for delegating to a subgenerator (yield from)
    - flexible string representation (doing away with the distinction between "wide" and "narrow" Unicode builds)
    - A C implementation of the "decimal" module, with up to 120x speedup for decimal-heavy applications
    - The import system (__import__) is based on importlib by default
    - The new "lzma" module with LZMA/XZ support
    - a Python launcher for Windows
    - virtual environment support in core
    - namespace package support
    - reworking the OS and IO exception hierarchy
    - qualified name for classes and functions
    - suppressing exception context
    - explicit Unicode literals to help with porting
    - extended platform-independent clocks in the "time" module
    - a new key-sharing dictionary implementation that significantly saves memory for object-oriented code
    - the function-signature object
    - The new "faulthandler" module that helps diagnosing crashes
    - The new "unittest.mock" module
    - The new "ipaddress" module
    - The "sys.implementation" attribute
    - A policy framework for the email package, with a provisional (see PEP 411) policy that adds much improved unicode support for email header parsing
    - A "collections.ChainMap" class for linking mappings to a single unit
    - Wrappers for many more POSIX functions in the "os" and "signal" modules, as well as other useful functions such as "sendfile()"
    - Hash randomization, introduced in earlier bugfix releases, is now switched on by default

    Dia 0.97.2 Portable by Evan

Dia 0.97.2 released, this version updates the number of translations, fixes a lot of bug, adding more color to SADT.
Dia is an open source flow chart software, is part of GNU project, the program founded by Alexander Larsson. Dia Use single document interface (CSDI) model, similar to the GIMP.
Dia will be a variety of needs to a modular design, such as flowcharts, network diagrams, circuit diagrams, etc. Symbol between each module is still common, and there is no limit. Dia can draw a variety of diagram, and by a variety of graphics can be added by XML. Dia XML format (gzip compressed to save space by default) to load and save flow.

Python v3.2.1 RC1 Portable by Evan

A remarkably powerful dynamic programming language

Python is a remarkably powerful dynamic programming language that is used in a wide variety of application domains. Python is often compared to Perl, Tcl, Scheme, Ruby or Java.

Fans of Python use the phrase "batteries included" to describe the standard library, which covers everything from asynchronous processing to zip files. The language itself is a flexible powerhouse that can handle practically any problem domain. Build your own web server in three lines of code. Build flexible data-driven code using Python's powerful and dynamic introspection capabilities and advanced language features such as meta-classes, duck typing and decorators.

Python lets you write the code you need, quickly. And, thanks to a highly optimized byte compiler and support libraries, Python code runs more than fast enough for most applications.
